In Light and Love ALL-Ways
the walls of the new temple cave, now inhabited by Emily and I.
one by one
kaleidoscoping in and out of one another.
falling from the sky
like a silent siren of light
from heavens open door.
i stood directly in the middle of the storm
arms outstretched skin vibrating with knowing
drinking in the laughter of their crying mouths.
hours passed before my seizing body, like
the shadows of swiftly moving clouds.
how long had it been?
a year ?
when i awoke i knew the world would never be the same.
i crawled up and out of black liquid earth
mothers blood joined my own and filled
the air in my lungs with fierce and undying devotion
i would never die for lack of stimulus
i had become the very essence of creation.
not a breath would pass from my being without
the shadow of death remembered.
not a movement left unnoticed
a thing of the past.
i found deep joy in the rotting remains
of a time long forgotten.
blackened machines lay along side the
swam through newly drenched air
the tears of abandoned millions
pushed its way to the surface of my lucid skin
knowing I would never
forget the reason for their downfall
the deadly finale
a tale suffocated by desire.
an alley way of despair.
if only the fallen could see now, the splendor of
their forgotten creators
ants marching mythically along the peeling bark of the manzanita
flies touching down on my body then taking flight
the delicate dark lines etched on skeletal remains
teeth still planted neatly within the sun bleached jaw bone
the whispering hum of the yellow jackets, a nest somewhere above
onward i walk
knowing the other
walk as well
and in the same reverence,
i can’t say how or why
but i know,
seeing each new scene
as if for the first time
we shall rise
like tides on sand
in the dark body of our mother.
and press wild thumbs into hollow hearts
3 stars in the nights sky
they circle around trees to remember
sirens from hearts core to the day of birth and death
none left behind
thee activating sheath to inaugurate the future
to taste the tale you long to tell.
to spoon feed those who scream for more.
a musing dance through loves intent
how intelligent to drive their eyes to small ones

SEP. 4-OCT. 9
Apropos Appropriation Marion Bronson, Richard Whitehead, Elizabeth Newman Kuiper, Darice McGuire and David Sutherland
Sep. 12 Reception 5-7pm
Bronson: “…we call ourselves appropriationists, and the art form appropriationism. We coined the last two words to avoid the financial connotation of the dictionary word ‘appropriators.’ We have written rules, the most flexible and generous we could design. We are free to adapt each other’s art and ideas. Each of us owns all the work he or she produces as an individual, signs it with her or his own name, and is free not to share credit or pay royalties. The exhibit itself will include the originals and the adaptations, showing the unique patterns of appropriationism as the artists derived new works from each other’s products….As the opening date nears, none of us has a clear idea of what will be on the gallery walls. Instead we stay open to all the creative ideas of the members. Whitehead has decided to paint some of my close-up photos of his own work. McGuire chose to paint a photograph I had taken in Denver of an artist’s studio floor. Sutherland used Photoshop to alter several of my photos, and digitally combine them with his own digital images. Kuiper has been using a photo of the Denver studio floor to paint, and then photograph her painting as a background for tabletop photography.”
